I'm a newbie
New member here. Just want to say hello to everyone and I was just wondering if anyone here owns one moisture meter like this http://amzn.to/1jwMHWn Or any suggestions or recommendations? I need one for my MH. Thanks in advance.

Would not go for a four probe model as with a two probe you can better get to out of the way (and therefore not noticable) areas like under window rubbers (don't let probes touch the rubber as it may have carbon in it and therefore conduct) and around hatch frames.

Pin meters are ok for checking moisture in timber.. or logs for burning.. cheap and cheerful

Non invasive is better for structural testing..

I have this one..

I have one of those too Jim. Great if you know whats behind the panel (it is a bulk measurement meter) and interpret the reading accordingly. Finds cables and metal reinforcing as well.

Hi and welcome -I too have same meter as Jim and on testing it on a friends Swift Kon Leaky MH it was extremely good and accurate at finding damp areas above 15%(of which there were plenty unfortunately!)

since 2006 ( I think ! )
Got mine from Maplins.. The only downside of it is that it tends to eat batteries if used a lot ( but most folk would not be in that position )

Me, I tend to pay a bit extra for anything tool related.. and I have had so much duff/cheap and nasty kit from Amazon I only buy stuff from there that canna possibly go wrong nowadays !!

Clearly not but it did determine accurately the full extent of it!
