Hi there anyone ever stayed on the car parks at the NEC before.we were booked onto the CC temp site on Monday ,Tuesday & Wednesday nights and as is usual with me and Jo something got in the way:rolleyes:and we couldn't go so we're planning to go tomorrow night and Saturday night, but they said sorry we are full .So that's £105 down the drain:mad: I'm sure they could have squeezed us in somewhere but they are saying no.So I thought we might just turn up and try and blag our way on or stay on a car park.

Have a kindly word with one of the car park attendants. I've often seen large motorhomes and RV's parked together in an area not far from the entrance to the halls, very near to where the CC carry out their caravan towing instruction.

Every time we go there we just park up with the other vans and lorries next to the halls. In the morning you do get surrounded by loads of cars but you got it first. This time I parked next to a Wildaxe from Wales and a Cathago. No body worried us as it is free parking for the show. I went around when we arrived at 11.30pm and could not get in to the parks as all the gates were closed including the CC site. Around to the main gate and spoke to the security saying how do you get to the site, they pointed around to the right and keep going, I didn't of course as I consider that £35 for members (and more if not???)is a total rip off for a area of tarmac. Just joined the stand builders. I saw a few MH parked in the Premier Inn carpark And thought that must be the salesmen driving down in a new MH and slumming it in a Hotel room.

£35 then for free parking with a EHU!!!!
Yes I know it's expensive but for us it's just convenience .you are not allowed to park on the car parks and stay overnight and they will move you on .anyway we have passes to get into the show so that makes it a bit easier on the pocket:).but if you parked in a nearby site it would cost about £20 per night plus a bit of petrol getting to and from the show then there is the hassle of the traffic:whistle: .at the end of the day there is not a lot in it.anyway Jo has got the bacon on and then off to the show .have a great day all.

As Brian says, it is expensive but it's the same with catering at events like these. The prices charged by venue owners have to be passed on.
We have stayed at CC sites at Chapel Lane and Warwick for the NEC show previously. This year we were too late by the time we had determined that we were able to go so no chance of any sites so we had a couple of nights in a B&B hotel. That was OK but £35 a night would have been a fair bit cheaper :)

Strange really we have been coming to the NEC shows for many years and always stay on the CC temp.site, and every time there has been maybe 20 or so RV,s & 5th wheels parked up,but this year not ONE.Very strange.
