stayed at Plockton before doing Applecross via the cattle pass road, which wasn't too busy and fairly easy.. some of the Lakeland passes are worse to do imho. but a lovely drive.. the weather was kind..

Living the dream.
We just had two and a half weeks in Scotland, the weather was brilliant too. Is this normal at this time of the year I wonder or were we both just lucky? (y)

Since 1964 Gosh that makes me feel old.
Wonderful photo's, its been too long since I've been up there & my wife has never been that far north (she's from Bucks) so its about time we did. Might hang off til May before the midges get started but still nice & light in the evenings.

You would be surprised at the weather we get during Sept, Oct and Nov can have some lovely dry spells.

Great photos Andy and you were fortunate with the weather, saying that it's still a beautiful place even when it is raining, I think we'll go there again next year, loved our first trip up there, apart from the M6

Thanks Andy, great memories

I didn't know the boat over to Cape Wrath ran this late in the year, we tend to go later, did you get the
mini bus or walk?

Some great photos, love the whole area :)

Except JoG maybe, but I hear even that has improved

edit - just read your text properly :) now seen that you got the boat and presume that you didn't walk 11 miles in an hour (y)

Great drive @andy63 , done the West Coast 10 days mid September and the weather was the best of the whole summer.

The pass is a great road for touring.....totally different from anything in Scotland
.

Only one midge day some great sights as well.........they were bombing off cape wrath when we were in Durness.

Great pictures happy memories.

Officially their season was over. But the weather was still good and they had enough people to do one trip that day..

There was some bombing exercise due to start .. can imagine it could be quite a site if you were there and they were doing some low level stuff...

Ta Andy.
