ok so it's in the future but Mrs and I are getting fed up with putting the bed together every night and looking at upgrading to a fixed bed model
Not loaded so looking at Round £15-20k.
Both working for a long time yet so this is for a max two weeks at a time.
Looked at a few MH this last weekend at the place in Wells Bridge and whilst some where ok a lot had terrible layouts which are massively compromised by the fixed bed. Most had a functional dinette but no lounge area. Either sit at a table or lay on a bed.
So RV... they are around the same price, most have gas conversions, have more space, all the toys (ac, cruise, levelling, separate shower room, massive bed) .
So why would I not go for a RV?
Things I think I know:
1. More cost on ferries.
2. Parts might not be as quick to get.
3. Bigger and more difficult to drive in places like Cornwall, but coaches go there.
4. 3.5 ton driving limit, I can drive 7.5 ton and I'm 30 years away from 70 and by then the driving age will probably be higher.
5. Left Hooker. Can't see that as a big issue, I'd soon get used to it and many MH driver prefer to buy LHD from new for European travel.
There must be lots I've missed out on and it would be great to hear from those that own RV's or have owned and switched back and the reason for this.
Many thanks
