We may be in the market for a new/secondhand motorhome if we can find one with the following.

Max size no more than 6.30
Under 3500 kg
Garage to fit two bikes
Separate shower
Large fridge/freezer
Single or double bed
Fairly up to date

Any ideas from "funsters" and traders

I'll read this with interest as those are pretty much our requirements for our next MH. You haven't mentioned budget though.

It's the 3500kgs you may struggle with to get everything in, ours @ 7.2 2berth was 3250 empty. So had it uprated to 3750kgs.

There have to be many out there that would suit surely, my last van covered all of that except the weight and length and then only just.

Hymer B514. Only thing it doesn't have is a separate shower but it does have a circular door to separate toilet from shower.

Yes that's it, no point having everything you want in a MoHo if it turns out there's no payload left. It has been said on here that manufacturers/ dealers may be economical with the truth regarding tare weights (n)

Well I have just briefly flicked through the 2015 Frankia Brochure and their Lo-Profile range covers every single one of your requirements.

They start out at or below 3500kgs with a Gross weight of 3850 however. As we know they are all a compromise.

So if Frankia can do it with their superb quality of finish I'm sure one of the British made vans can do it without the double floor and other weight saving features like thinner cabinets and floor and walls.

cant see any van working @3500 that is over 7 metre. In fact dificult enough at 6.5 and then with only the new lightweight generation of vans

Our ideal is probably going to have to be our own conversion one day but enjoy looking at all the new ideas & shiny new motorhomes in the meantime - not long now to the NEC Show :) We like the idea of rufty-tufty, washable interior with no wood/wood effects in the bathroom so completely waterproof. Everything designed with ease of use, comfort & quality a priority rather than what looks best. Simple but clever design - more utility than luxury.Ideally a Ford van (economical to run) but narrow enough for country lanes, about 6.5m long & tall enough to live in without having coachbuilt adaptations. Well insulated with lots of storage & a large garage under fixed raised beds - as yet never seen this in a pvc! Solar roof & built in refillable gas tank as standard. Some simple pop out porch awning design & all under 3.5t with a good payload! Well we can dream...

@Wombles "We like the idea of rufty-tufty, washable interior with no wood/wood effects in the bathroom so completely waterproof." with proper wood not photographed vinyl perhaps?:)

Hmm......another to look at "2015 FRANKIA launch the Selection range in 3.5 t class"

haven't looked them up yet but up to now I thought the only people doing practical @3500 campers were Humer (with some of the exsis range). Carthago & Euramobil

lovely van but sorry the Mass in running order already: 3180 kg
by the time you add all the usual extras I cant see this having a practical payload @ 3500. I can assure you not many are....

The Benimar range are impressive - they are part of Trigano group so like Chausson but with more UK style features(y) Do think that their new price point is a bit high in comparison though.

With a need for 3500kg limit we are looking for similar at the mo and on our list of possibles are the Hymer Exsis i and Pilote G600/700 /740
I like the Pilote as there is option to buy without drop down bed.
All of these are A class which we prefer.

I was looking at Benimar Mileos as they weren't A class as i feel like I'm driving a juggernaut in them!! Purely a (this female!)psychological thing with the front/cab being to me soooooo wide! This was even with a 6m one -Laika Rexosline 600 -which fits all requirements of colyboy except separate shower -altho bathroom enormous for size. Did have dropdown bed which wouldn't ever want again as experienced waking in night next to a fire and getting out of bed and having to put it up to roof before being able to drive away was nerve-wrecking.
