Hymer B574 Fiat 2.5TD Base 1999 T reg



Offering as quick sale I am unable to drive it due to an accident and am due to have an operation, More details are on a thread on MHF forum Broken Link Removed



The van has a damaged rear bumper which I have sourced and a small damaged (scraped) area on the rear offside. The bumper will have to be made and will take three weeks. Or it could be patched up.



I have had the front suspension checked out, it sits a bit low in my opinion but am being told this is normal, have had a quote of £650 to replace front springs with commercial heavy duty ones. I stress this doesn't need doing But I will knock this figure off the valuation.



Priced to reflect work required I am looking for £13500 which will include supply of the new rear bumper.



This is the french bed model



Has both cab air con and roof air con (mains only) The layout features a rear fixed bed with large storage underneath. To the side is the well apppointed washroom with shower /WC to the rear. The middle of the Hymer has the dinette, both front seats swivel. The front drop down double bed that is situated above the cab area. Blown air heating. TV/DVD player. Microwave Two gas bottles, electric hookup, external silver screens.



This year it has had New engine cooling Radiator, New Aircon compresser radiator, 4 new tyres (less than 1000 miles) New fresh water pump. New offside mirror. Full Service. MOT to July 2016. Engine battery was new in 2014


It runs and drives as it should, always starting on the button. c 85,000 miles on the clock



This Hymer also comes with a reversing camera, a drive away awning and towbar (not currently fitted but all electrics are present) additional external storage lockers . Spare alternator and Air con drive belts.

Thanks Jim, not happy about the rush but I need to do something positive to persuade the OH that we can continue motorhoming, hopefully by seeking out something we can both drive, an automatic!

In that case if you are based in UK then surely RHD is the better option and probably a little cheaper on insurance than LHD in UK. No 100% about this but seem to think a LHD insurance is loaded a bit due to obvious difference in driving position on UK roads. I am pretty sure I will be corrected or otherwise on this. Therefore you may be looking at a nice van here for very reasonable price even taking into consideration the very minor damage.

Correction received with grace , I quite obviously assumed wrong. Insurance companies always ask Left or Right hand drive and they never usually miss an opportunity to bump up the price. I myself always feel there is a slightly raised risk driving LHD on UK roads and vice versa for obvious reasons such as overtaking.

Thanks for the info. and have noted the subsequent correction. RHD does make more sense but for some odd reason I was leaning towards LHD. ..... more exotic possibly

No surely about it.....I have always had LHD, based on the massive cost savings offered by importing. Most people just get in and drive... My wife who was a timid driver, drives as well no problem. Big fuss about nothing, mainly from people who have never driven a LHD and imagine all sorts of nonsense

I agree with you. I actually think LHD is the more natural position. ... If you don't have any right side viability issues then it shouldnt be a problem other than overtaking and car park ticket machines. ....neither of which I'm guessing is much of an issue with a motorhome

I have no problem with it, never driven a LHD but have driven RHD in France &Spain without issues so same scenario really.
But surely it's not all "nonsense as why would the norm be RHD vehicles in countries where you drive on left side of road and vice versa. Just a thought

I have been very remiss in not updating my status, sorry

My van was sold to someone who is in the body repair trade, it was the best outcome bearing in mind the damage needing repair.

Thanks again to everyone who supported us after our somewhat bizarrely disastrous French holiday, still very one handed, will be looking for an auto van in the new year
