Morning,

I'm considering fitting a fantastic vent to my Hobby 750 but concerned about noise levels.

I know these are principally designed for RVs which are considerably taller inside (and a lot bigger ), which presumably helps with noise reduction.

Any advice ?

Many thanks

Mark

Noise is a matter of opinion
Any fan will get louder with speed
If you can tune it out of your mind and find the right balance of speed/ temperature you can't do any more

We had a fantastic fan vent in our RV , it has a variable temperature and speed control and with multi blades works well and on med to low revs is quiet enough.

Have a factory fitted one in our Hymer last week here in Greece it was still in the 30's at night, ran the Fantastic vent most of the night, with the rear roof vent open and the vent extracting gave a loverly cool breeze over the rear beds. Our vent is centre mounted in the van.
As for noise on slowest setting which is all we needed a lot quieter than aircon in a hotel room. Also if you get the thermostat set correctly if will turn off once van is down to temp.
Great bit of kit.

Not long enough, but a little common sense helps..........
I now have two fitted having removed the air co unit. At the lowest setting at night keeps us cool ( currently here is Spain thats 19C at night ) and little noise and best thing no EHU. During the day running full power keeps MH cool ( 34C today ) enough to sit in if needed and solar replaces amps taken out. Win win..................

As Don mentions low on power less than 1 amp on slow speed, just over 2 amps on top speed.
Very economic compared to running a Truma Combi in the vent mode to push air around the van, that takes over 5 amps full speed and not as effective as the Fantastic vent on slow speed.

By the way the American ones are usually 12" x 12" not 40cm x 40cm

So you may need to check what you have ordered

And, some older Hobby vans had vent aperture bigger than 40cm x 40cm

When said I have two fitted I should have said I have the Fiamma ones fitted.

Works same, bought one in UK whilst there and the other here in Spain. Price difference between UK and Spain was 20 quid..........
