Does anyone know of a pub or sIMILar that will allow overnighting on the Ipswich Rd side of Colchester?

There is a CC CL at Boxted - straight road, but I don't know of any pubs up Ipswich Road way that would help. Look forward to seeing other comments on this

Didn't know the lodge CL existed..... Other side of Colchester though.

Nice CL, with toilets and metered electric ..it's about 10 mins from the A12 .. . we stayed there in 2009 when full time and became friendly with the owners..

Of course, for 25 of our English pounds per night you could stay on our driveway. Hook up and waste disposal extra. Taking the mick out of Welsh Rugby is free of charge

Unfortunately our van is in the way......

I had a walk down there a couple of months ago when we were at the CC CL just up the road and didn't see any signs prohibiting mh parking, but it is NT as you say.

They probably don't prohibit MH parking, Martin, though they don't actually mention it on their web pages (even though NT told me they would do something about that some time ago).
There is, though, a general prohibition on MH camping at NT properties unless it is one where they have established a licensed caravan site.
As mentioned on another thread the other day, the NT is not a licensing authority for the purposes of the 1960 Act to its provisions apply to them just like any other organisation.

You can indeed park a motorhome at Flatford Mill. . plenty of space.. we used it several times in the past,..

If look at street view there is a coach parked in the car park.. but as said by Graham, NT do not permit overnight camping.

Thanks for this. Have booked up for a couple of nights at the Lodge in early October. I will let you have some feedback afterwards.

Thanks for the advice. Stayed at the Lodge CL for two nights last week and it was very convenient. £10 a night on a very well kept site with a friendly owner. Will certainly stay again if in that area.
