I was looking at that....Woodhall Spa is pretty & an interesting wander, might be slightly over an hour on a Friday especially.

Or the Peak District, Castleton maybe?

Since 2009 with motorhomes several caravans then tents before that.
We like misterton and west Stockwith.
Both about 10 miles from dn4 if it's the Balby Doncaster area?
The white Hart pub in west Stockwith does great ale. They have their own microbrewery on site. The foods cheap but good pub grub too. It's a regular weekend stop for us , with a campsite staggering distance away !

you can just about get to Hawes in one hour, one of my favourite places, but you are more or less stuck with the CC site, 1/2 mile from town with plenty of pub options, dog friendly virtually everywhere (if you have a dog(y)) :)

White House farm at Misterton - that's close to you isn't it?
It's a lovely site, nice pub and little shop in the village.

Newbie to MH, 20yrs+ Caravanning.
Also Haxey Quays at Misterton, opposite Haxey Gate Inn, site now has a number of hard standings and EHU. Pub directly across road, good food and also golf course and driving range. Fishing is also permitted on site, used to be free but think there may be a charge of £2/day now. Open all year round.

maybe slightly enthusiastic , but we like it enough to exaggerate (y)

We are looking for somewhere to go in October and Hawes looks like a possibility. We are having a couple of days at Strathclyde Country Park and Hawes is only 150 miles away so an easy drive for us. Thanks for the suggestion (y)

We stayed on Bembridge Ings, 5/10 min easy walk into Hawes. Lovely people running it, loo block a bit basic & it did seem to be in a bit of a windy spot, whereas the club site looked sheltered:LOL:
Or there's the livestock market for o/nighting a la @Ralph-n-Bev :)

Yes the cattle market is good for a nights stop over . But you have to be a member of the caravan camping club and there's a charge £10, if I remember rightly. They have someone checking now too as people were abusing the Facility/spot. Not paying in the honesty box and leaving a mess. Always one , isn't there?
@HappyBrewer Yes the campsites open all year @weststockwith.
