Bought my van with this already fitted but because I have so much battery capacity 730ah I never really used it nor thought it accurate anyway
Also being near the floor was not user friendly
I recently fitted a more recent model B2B thanks @Robert Clark
The direction of the cooling air flow gave me an idea

One thing puzzles me Andy.......how much polish do you get through polishing your tools.

I bet that clamp meter is still immaculate in 5 years....as will be the screw driver, Makita (whatever it is) and tape measure..oh, and the rasp.

All my tools LOOK used and abused....very well used.
Most of my drivers lead a double life....driver and chisel/punch.

The wear is shared out John as I have separate tool kits for different work modes.
I have a lot of junk too

Not long enough, but a little common sense helps..........
Removal????. I have only just fitted my BM1 at Stratford.

Watch it more than the telly.

Oh yeah, we we don't have a telly!
I told you you would be watching it all the time.:)

As always @Techno100 your jobs look really neat.
I am fitting some extra battery's myself and was looking for battery boxes but noticed you do not use them? Can you tell me if your battery's are differently sealed or just do not consider it worthwhile to box them?
I only ask because I cannot find a suitable box to take a pair of battery's side by side and cannot get any info to say they should be used or not. The existing ones are effectively under the floor so the box is logical to both carry them and keep them clean but another one similar would not fit under the seat space I have spare.
Thanks in advance.

All of my batteries are either AGM sealed or Maintenance free lead acid. I would only use a battery box if the battery required mechanical protection from knocks. As my batteries all live in dedicated compartments a box would be pointless

Thank you, that's good enough for me then as they are maintenance free lead acid and free (y) so will get them fitted with the inverter asap.

My inverter bank is a precise fit below the bed in the garage and totally secure unless I go upside down
A solid shelf above for storage and Milenco quatros usually stored across the front

I'm using the two extra batteries as my inverter is 24v so it will be a stand alone system with a dedicated 24v mains charger.
I will wire the sockets using your design of changeover relay but these are only needed for the wife's obligatory hair straighteners and the occasional microwave usage. The batteries should be good for quite a few days off grid mains requirement even though they cannot be charged from the solar.
Hopefully I will come by a 12v inverter which would be an easy swop with the battery wiring and then have solar charging for them as a bonus.
