As said, weight is the number one consideration.

A couple of ramps weigh nothing.

No experience with them but I would say downsides are Cost? added weight? maximum lift?

On the positive side, great for when you get a puncture, should be easy to level up on sites.

I looked at them but felt I could use the 5k better elsewhere and use ramps instead.

I think they can be transferred but IMO they will need to reduce the prices of them to something that is more affordable as at the moment it's a big lump of money for very little return.

E&P are about £5000.00 and weigh 45 to 50 kgs depending on the brackets. 20 kgs?

I have a quote from Rosmia, their agent in Sussex for £4935.00 fitted including vat, all in weight of 45kgs.
I've had an identical quote from them too
They need to inspect the van before ordering parts
Fitting takes two days
Trying to get my van booked in for inspection this week

Thanks Steve
What did SAP charge?
Do they fully discuss the installation with you and where they are going to run and fix stuff?

I had them fitted by Rosmia to my Comanche 14 months ago, they discuss where you would like the hydraulic unit fitted and the main control panel. They are really good and I am well chuffed with them. I had the hydraulics fitted in the compartment on the outside by the batteries. I didn't bother with the remote control and to be honest you really don't need it.
