Gas hob and water. (1 Viewer)

The Rapido, has a gas hob similar to this,

And some water has accidentally been poured onto it..

I have removed the top cover of the burner, that only exposed the aluminum burner which has the ignition. Can I remove this without messing with the ignition?

Thoughts/ Suggestions

Sorry,don't know answer-but am wondering what has the water done that necessitates stripping it all down-water will dry I would have thought.

It won't do any harm. Just soak out the worst of it with kitchen roll or something then reassemble and light the burner. It might burn a bit orange for a while until the residual water has gone. Then take it to bits again and clean the off the black mess that will be left over.

A bit of water won't make a jot of difference. Are you saying it stopped it lighting?

I've stripped the one in our Hymer a few times as we had to remove the hob to get at the fridge serviced (long story) But what a pain. I'd only strip it down if you have a real problem, we've had saucepans boil over before without any problems.

Hobs are designed to cope with spillage, let it dry out, make sure the electricity is off. Should be okay by tomorrow.

Anyhow I have fixed it and will be vacuuming the last jets on Thursday. The insult.

All sorted and one of the jets was blocked and sorted remember some advice from @tofo

Mine is as clean as the day it was installed, thank you very much..

My otherwise identical hob has a sink drain and plug fitted (as standard!) so it can be used as a draining board. It gets very, very, wet in use.

Our hob is the same as pictured in the OP. Being in a Burstner, though, the design is such that one doesn't pour water into it
