Has anyone booked their MH as a Campervan and not had to pay any excess?

NEVER.

I think the only extras are if you are (I have never towed) towing, which I understand will double the cost.

Always booked as a campervan. Campervan covers everything from the smallest Romahome type thing to the biggest RV.

Don't try and over complicate the booking. Forget about the weight of your van, the limits on weight only apply to commercial vehicles.

Don't click any of the tabs on the home page (Tickets & Fares, Book Now etc) just use the fare finder in the red box on the home page.

Thanks for the info guys, having spoken direct yes book as a campervan, length is not an issue, height over 1.85 is defined as campervan. Strangely enough the fare was cheaper than either of the bucket sites and on a par with P & O ! As we live an hour from Folkestone it will be shuttle only from now on!

Glad to see you are going to use the shuttle. Prices can be cheaper than many ferries if you took out frequent traveller. Campervan £108 return any time of the year no extra fees for changing up to 24 hours notice. You have to buy minimum of 10 crossings (5 returns) BUT you can share with one other person.

I always book using Tesco vouchers, cheaper by far.
NEVER.

They don't double the fare for a trailer as you suggest. I have done that 3 or 4 times and the cost has stayed the same for years and no different this year.

Don't forget you can use Tesco Clubcard vouchers to pay for all / some of the Le Shuttle fare.
I just booked our annual Christmas Market trip for December. £133 return - minus £105 of Tesco vouchers ... £28 to pay. Ta muchly (y)

Our October trip cost £4 plus the dogs (y)

For anyone that hasn't booked using Tesco vouchers before remember it can't be done online. You have to book over the phone.
