Having fitted my awning LED strip the full length of my awning (6m) it was a bit on the bright side so bought one of these from eBay for the princely sum of £2.95 inc postage and have to say it's great. It was simple to wire up and there are 3 preset brightness levels 25% 50% or 100% at a touch of a button or you can alter it anywhere in between but also has different modes which you can choose like flashing, soft twinkly etc (not that I'll be using any of them, could look like a bl..dy christmas tree!!!)

fitted the same on ours, great bit of kit take the remote out with you and as you walk up in the dark one click and let there be light.
Saves power too lol 6mt uses less than the one awning light did.

Does it need line of sight to the receiver like an infra-red? I assume it will work with a single LED bulb as well as a string. I like the idea of a remote as I walk up to the motorhome.

No it does not need line of sight. I've mounted the little receiver in a plastic box inside the aperture just behind where I fitted the switch. I tested it while outside the Motorhome with all doors closed etc and works great

Hi I tried one of these a while back in an Autotrail Tribute but it wouldn't work.
Apparently some led strips can not be dimmed - is this correct?
Love to be proved wrong or is dimmer faulty?

any led up to 5amps. I fitted ours in the awin light just tuck the bulb out and use an old bulb soldered wires on so you can turn it off in side when not wanted . wiring is there, works ace.

And I bought one to. At £1.42 it is as cheap as chips, and being posted from Manchester (allegedly!), not China

Will someone please explain to me how they do that. Cost £1.42 less 2nd class stamp 63p less Jiffy bag, say 10p, leaves 69p.

So with 69p it has to be made, shipped from china and a profit made.

Don't see how it's done.

Well I bought mine Thursday and it arrived in Saturday's post - it had been sent first class, and in a plastic envelope with decent padding. They must be buying them for pennies to be making any money.

I should emphasise that the pictures above are taken with an iPhone at night and as good as apple are they don't do justice by a long way to just how good the light is to the naked eye

Was told about this thread over the weekend so just searched it out and clicked the link, apparently they have realised that perhaps they may have been too cheap and now upped the price slightly to £4.55

But I have found this seller with them also from Manchester, well Salford actually! £2.59 so I've ordered all 4 of the available stock, wonder how many they have still though
