We are making our first trip to France in our Motorhome and taking the dog, how long does it take to go through Euro Tunnel with the dog, what happens ? Also people travelling with dogs, do you take them everywhere with you ? Our dog is a little nervous and I am not keen leaving her in the Motorhome, but not sure what to do with her when we go cycling.

Check in. Wait. There's a dog exercise/play area. Drive onto the train. Stay in your vehicle with the dog. The train starts moving. 35 minutes later you drive off in France.

The return trip is the same apart from you have to go to Pet Passport before you check in.

As to leaving them that's down to you as you know your dog better than any of us do. We tend to take ours with us during the day and then they are fine if we want to leave them for a couple of hours to go out for dinner or something. You can get bike trailers for dogs if you want to go cycling with her.

Your dog stays with you in the motorhome whilst in the tunnel, it takes about 35 mins.
We take our dog with us all the time when on holiday, we have a doggy trailer (we have a ship tzu) so out trailer on the back if hubby's bike.

It's a learning curve
France is very dog friendly, we take ours most places with us, so you don't need to worry on that score. As for cycling etc, we take them for a very long walk first, followed by food. They sleep for hours so we can happily leave them.
Ours sleep in a crate; Covered with a sheet it makes them feel secure and less stressed. We got ours used to a crate by using it in the car whenever we took them out. Now they are in it whenever we travel.

Also, (You may know this already but in case you don't....)
Don't forget to take your pooch to the vets for tapeworm treatment between 1 and 5 days before your return to the UK. :)

Good advice.
Make sure that the vet uses an approved treatment, and they endorse the pet passport with date & time.

Well, if your on the train, not very long. But if you walk the dog through, it takes a tad longer. Be prepared for a long trip, take a drink, maybe a Mars Bar or two, oh, and a few poop bags. Also, remember to keep the dog on a lead, and away from the rails. (y)(y):)
If you meet someone coming the other way wearing a life jacket, then it's better just to ignore and walk on. (y)
