I know it is a long way off but are any Funsters planning to go to WOMAD Caceres next year?

For those who went this year; where did you find the best place to park up?

Have you seen that Camping Caceres have a Womad offer of 15% discount for 3 nights? Maybe there's a bus service?

Yes, I have seen the discount at Camping Caceres. I am wondering whether there are any alternatives to that camp site.

We stayed at Camping Caceres in March this year and I seem to remember the Receptionist telling us that there is a bus into town. We had earlier called at the Aire in town which was full but the 'overflow' places, usually occupied by tour buses, had one space left and as we dithered as to whether we could fit our MH in, it was smartly occupied by a very understanding Dutchman!!
One thing to bear in mind that it will be quite hot in Caceres in May and Camping Caceres has a very nice pool, not to mention the individual wetrooms on each pitch.

Same happened to us when we arrived at about 2pm in April this year. We were not impressed by the look of the the Aire anyway so decided to give up on the idea and drive on into Portugal. A couple of hours later we were safely parked in a free Aire in Marvao. A view to die for out of our window and a beautiful fortified hilltop village to explore 5 minutes walk away.

How convenient is that for Womad? ;)

Not very :D. But probably no more than an hour's drive on a good quiet road.

Just making the point that the Cascares Aire is often very full. And I was told by a funster who we met on a campsite in Salamanca (@Timetraveller ), who had used the Aire the night before, that the police were moving on all those that had stopped for more than 24 hours, so probably not suitable for several nights stay.

Sounds like the Aire's out then. Probably the campsite is the best bet. Maybe the OP could send an email to them to see if they have transport laid on for the festival.
