Being a relative newbie to Motorhoming may I ask WHY?

Apart from getting up the mountain (which is clearly marked "Not suitable for lorries or Motorhomes") there are 19 hairpin bends on the way down. It involved about 30 3 point turns. It was perhaps the most stupid thing I have ever done. It was however a steep learning curve and it will be mistakes I will never make again!

Wow, literally by the sound of it - scary. Glad it all turned out OK.

Looks as though the camper van at 2:15 is having second thoughts. Or heart failure.

Oh Mike. I feel your pain. We've got ourselves into similar situations and now I check the route so very carefully using the map on the sat nav at it's greatest magnification to see what's ahead.

I bet you lost pints of sweat!

Big girl's blouse! Try it on snow!

Only joking! Glad you survived!:)

I did, the snow was around six feet deep on each side, and in places laying in the road too, there was very little traffic but the main issue was sheep sitting in the tunnels. The arched tunnels were giving us around 6 to 8 inch clearance the from the roof if we stayed in the dead centre. When we hit the the border post on the top it was deserted so we stopped for some photos, it was bright sunshine but bloody cold. The journey down was fine if done slowly with care, but I don't think I would do it again.

On the parts where these is a sheer drop at the side of the road near the top the drop is enough that if you went over the edge you would just have time to realise you were in deep do do and say goodby before the Angels came with a tin opener to take you to an even higher place.
