Hi Guys
Just trying to identify a power supply for my fridge vents.
It appears that the blue is live and the brown or black is neutral
Could this be right ?

The German way !!

And with DC the correct term is positive and negative or positive and ground.

Hi Brian
Do you think i should use the same colours for my new installation and cross them over at the appliance?

The standard is Blue for Live +12v & white for Ground negative, but manufacturers do not stick to it and you will find different colours. Brown is often used for Ground and the live is often Brown with a Blue stripe (common on Hymer lighting circuits).

Use any colour you want but label them, then no confusion.

Mind you, I don't know why a DC appliance would have blue/brown wires. Red/Black I would have thought.
