My Flair has a 9200 awning. There is a short stay towards the end of each main spring arm which diagonally connects to the casing. These both have plastic locks which seem to be designed to hold the stay in a permanent fixed position once set. Mine do not lock and I cannot see how the mechanics of the attachment work. The manual is not much use and a call to a Thule dealer revealed nothing other than they should lock? Can anyone provide some advice or experience?

We have the 8000, the arms only lock when right out.
You do mean the tensioner arms about 300-400 mm long diagonal to the spring arms, grey blocks at the end which slide in the main case.

The arms that slide along the front channel. Ours have grey tab that turns. 90 degrees to lock and show red. Just thought this may be similar on the later longer awnings.

Exactly the same fitting I have so we are are on the same wavelength. When I turn mine to 90 degrees with the red dot showing the grey assembly still slides in the track. I am not sure what is wrong, I cannot find any exploded parts diagram.

Thanks that is more detail than I could find. Does the locking block, when you lock it, hold its position by friction to the slide rail, or does it lock into something?
Thanks.
