Simple,,you just screw it with self tappers to the inside of the top fridge vent and then wire it into a 12 volt feed. They work well in hot weather...BUSBY.

I agree it's easy and it makes a big difference when it's hot.

How is the fan switched?
Is there a thermostat or any control?

Does that same apply with a tall Theford Fridge/Freezer?

many many years! since I was a kid
adjustable temperature switches are only a couple of pounds. set it to switch on above 20 degrees ambient air temperature

pick up the 12volt feed from the input to the fridge, not the ignition controlled feed though

You can get them for pence from ebay. I paid a fiver each for tc (thermostatically controlled) which go faster the hotter it is and are virtually silent at night.

Sorry, just popped into a computer shop we were near at the time.
Pic below. If it appears upside down your computer is broken:LOL:

Ps. It's moroccan dust, must clean them soon to restore aerodynamics and reduce amp useage!

All absorption refrigerators systems have ammonia and hydrogen confined within the unit at the back of the fridge.
at the bottom of the fridge you have the absorber vessel containing these liquids that run to the boiler where the heating elements start to work.
Heating the weak solution of ammonia and water at the boiler tube, drives it in gaseous form through the boiler tube, carrying the solution to the upper level of the water separator.
the liquid settles in the water separator and flows into the absorber vessel.
the ammonia vapor rises into the condenser where it will condense into a liquid.
the ammonia then flows by gravity into the evaporator. large quantities of hydrogen gas are fed into the evaporator, allowing the ammonia to evaporate at a low pressure and temperature.
since the ammonia is condensing, the the ammonia vapour pressure drops.
it will then naturally try to reach a vapour pressure corresponding to the temperature in the absorber coils and will continue to evaporate until that pressure is achieved.
as the ammonia evaporates, it absorbs heat from the food compartment of the refrigerator.
So in order for the fridge to work well you'll need to expel the heat and gasses at the top of the unit, this is way there is a top vent, however ambient temperature can have a large effect on the how good your fridge works.
If the outside temperature rises above 25 digress you need to expel some of the excess heat from the back of the fridge, like wise in the winter the temperature drops below 7 digress you need to pot on your fridge vents.
Adding a PC fan to the back of the top vet to expel heat in countries like Spain where temperatures can get in the upper 30's can really make a big difference.

I hope this helps

Are they noisier during the day?

20 degrees above ambient could be 40 degrees. Do fridge vents get that hot?

Unfortunately they also want €22 postage which is pretty steep!

Go to your local computer repair shop..they should sell you one for a tenner. BUSBY.
