No mention of 12V working but not a serious problem, a small inverter is cheap enough.

No mention of 12v option on the specs..

best ask Finlux , it may have a 12vdc / 240v brick , same as it's big brother the 22" Travel TV .then all you need is a 12v lead..

but as far as I know the 22" has sold out..

You can get a Samsung Full HD (+ HD freeview) from Tesco for £99. it also has analogue tuner which is handy in Spain on site connection. and USB port to play movies recorded TV series etc..... and it works with diffrent formats unlike the Avetex which I returned.....if it gets stolen not such a loss....

Not long enough, but a little common sense helps..........
The problem with the "all in one" TV is when something breaks it's a lot of money to replace. I agree with hilldweller ( no I don't NOT now!! ) that make is nice, but a great deal of money. I have a well known store 12volt 19in LCD TV that cost 90 quid ( no DVD, or build in sat tuner ) and can match a 300+ quid one picture for picture. At the end of the day like buying a car or motorbike or motorhome the choice is yours.

yes.. but it may have a 240 volt to 12vdc brick ...
most small screen TVs have

As you say Jim, it probably does, I only rang them as someone said in a review they received the brick but the Finlux woman was adamant, no 12v supply.

I couldn't seem to make her understand my question and eventually gave up in frustration.

Hymie.

The one I have is from Spain and this model:

If you go to curries this is the same style:

As long as the TV you are looking at has a "brick" along the power cable into the TV it will/should be 12volt, however some TV now are 19 volts so when you are viewing it check back of TV for voltage and look at the underside of the "brick" I do not use the brick in the MH as I have make a 12volt cable direct from batteries. Total amps drawn is 2.2 which is great the only down side of these TV's is the sound. I use the audio out into a Bose speaker which improves sound 100%.

Gary no matter what TV you buy around 16in / 19in / 22in the sound will be very bad from the tiny speakers. I use a Bose mini speaker that makes all the difference.

Since 1964 Gosh that makes me feel old.
I've tried a few telly's that can work on 12v but the constant joggling in a motorhome or caravan eventually knocks ordinary TV's senseless. The Beauty of an Avtex TV is that its built to take punishment that ordinary TV's wont tolerate.

you believe that hype ?

at three times the price, I could replace my Finlux every year for three years and still be cheaper ..
also, by that time technology has moved on....

I've had 'domestic' TVs in caravans and motorhomes for over 20 years and never had any fail..

Finlux works well for us runs on 12v and uses very little power i'm sure @Techno100 uses one and is best man for the pros and cons of anything 12v and more.

It will still be 12 volts via a 230 volt box but not being sold as the travel version it won't have a 12 volt lead. This is the later version of the 19" and without seeing it in the flesh it looks much chunkier (not good IMHO) Good price and a lead will be around £12 on ebay if the 4 pin connector type
