Dometic Fridge 12v (1 Viewer)

In France at the moment & fridge will not run on 12v when travelling. All i get is a very fast alarm beep and can hear a ticking noise through the vent that corresponds with the beeps. Sounds like gas igniter trying to fire up. Any suggestions please? Thanks,

Happened to us! It turned out to be spade connection had come adrift!
Take bottom vent off, connections are under the cover you can see!
Might not be this in your case but worth checking, costs nowt!

Thanks @Munchie. Just had the covers off & all looks ok. Couldn't actually see a cover in there apart from one covering the gas jet etc. No obvious loose wires anyway! It's a Dometic RMS 8501, type C40/110. Manual change over. Thanks.

Could be a fuse in the 12v feed but if it is the ignition trying to work then it sounds as if it is not changing over fully.

I had exactly this recently, the plastic switch was worn so not turning the metal shaft it was supposed to be turning.
I was outside by the vents when I first realised.
It is now fixed but I did manage to work round it by pulling the plastic switch off and using one of the oven knbs instead.

Thanks. Ours is an electronic keypad changeover. @gozomike , I'll check fuses shortly. Thanks. Fridge/van is only 21 months old so will see what warranty is when we get back. Bet it's only a year

Dometic warranty is 24 months. If you're going to Malvern? there will be a service engineer on site

Hi Chris

Just a thought but on some of the fridges there will be 2 feeds, one to run the fridge when on 12volts and another for the ignition and internal light. Those without the internal light could have a battery for the ignition in place of the second feed.
