Newbie!
can anyone recommend where to buy the clip on beam benders for a ducato cab?
Our dealer recommended the clip on beam benders because the stick on ones eat into the plastic over time?

We went for headlight covers/protectors, which have marks for placement of the supplied stickers/beam benders:

But ours is the old Ducato cab, I suspect they do the same for newer models.

Not long enough, but a little common sense helps..........
Why, are you going to drive your MH in the dark? - waste of money.

I travel to UK every year and have never fitted them, why? parked up 99% of the time before it's dark, if raining in day time makes no difference !!! and lastly have a look at every other MH you pass or see parked up how many have them fitted............... I rest my case.

I have never seen a foreign vehicle over here with anything on their lights

Also can I ask those on here who insist on being compliant over the channel, why do you fit them before leaving and not remove them on return?

The modern things just block out the part of the dip beam which rises to the left, they do not bend it at all.

We used to have amber covers for the old round headlamps, they used to make an attempt at bending the beam.

that's the stuff, couldn't recall the name...
but
jeez.. you're a bigger hoarder than me..

is it in the box marked.. 'might come in handy ':ROFLMAO:
when i shut the garage i had all or most of my stock in a big dodge lorry. i brought it all home plus lots of other things . i have loads of storage space here .
i thought i might reopen later after my big africa trip.
as it was i didnt .
a mate came round and offered a price for all the bits in the truck. i delivered it all to him and the truck.
but some things just stayed where they were in my garage at home .
it is 35ft long and 14 ft wide .i also have a lorry container in the garden and another shed for my motor bikes in summer. the bikers go into storage at my mates in winter . indoor heated warehouse.
but i do have lots of interesting old things .
why do you think i cant fulltime ?
cant get rid of my old junk.
got lots of vintage vw bits . plus m,bike and car mags going back since i was a kid .
did get rid of some . mmm was some of them often wish i hadnt as often want some old info and its not here.
one day my son will have to sort it out . or my grandsons . i could build at least three trikes and two beach buggies with almost not buying anything .
i did get rid of about twenty vw engines last year.
decided i would never use them .
but still got a few here all built capped off and crated .
engine adaptors to put golf /passat engines into beetles and campers .
yes i think you could say i hoard things .
and camping gear and cookers years ago another mate and i started collecting camp cookers from meths to gas and everything inbetween .
plus vaporlux lamps . got some nice brand new pump up paraffin lamps by willis and bates .
again we used to sell them . ha ha . now i just hoard them .

'cause main beam is up & dip is down. Ours don't dip to the right. That's why you see so many out in the campo at night with fog lights on. So they can see the water gulleys !!

Got one (also in it's original box) in the garage along with a blowlamp (no box though boo). Wonder what the brass in them is worth?
Just a thought could we pretend sell all our junk to each other in rotation so we both can get rid of the other half on the cheap?:whistle2:

brass blow lamps, also fetch good money..

I have an old Primus N02 , belonged to my dad.. I used it while camping in the 80s and 90s.. until paraffin became hard to find.. and was forced to 'modernise'

occasionally I dig it out.. clean it up and light it..

paraffin , if you can find it, is silly money now.. .. used to be dirt cheap ..

i carry beam benders in the truck but never used them .
on my old vw t2 a bit of black insulating tape did the job .
i also have singer sewing machines as well jim isnt the only one . but i think he has more than me .

Oh and getting Fred Drift out of the way still got the insulating tape that I cut to shape as beam deflectors for our Saab when we took it to France in 1992!
Wonder if I'll ever buy another one or should I just throw them in the bin? It will be a wrench though!

We have some stick on ones bought on the ferry a few years ago ......still in the packet. Cannot figure out how to fit them on on Rapido 997. We hardly ever travel in the dark but of course have the lights on in bad rainy weather .

There should be a long placement guide for practically every vehicle, so follow the instructions for the base vehicle. In my case I follow the Ducato chassis cab placement.

I tried yesterday to buy headlamp protectors for my 2013 Fiat Ducato. The Fiat dealer in Darlington said that Fiat no longer manufacture them. I suspect that someone else might make them but have been unable to find a source as yet.
