Operation Stack is still on and we're being told it will be on until the weekend. Allow plenty of time if you're travelling to the Tunnel/Dover.
All the operators (ferry & tunnel) are reporting a good service at present though, DFDS is still diverting to Dunkirk but is on schedule.
I looked at the traffic in the Dover area, and it is starting to build up, so wise words, allow plenty of time for your journey to Dover.

Todays the day! Mainland Europe here we come, but first the M25, worse than normal because of the London tube strike and then diversions for operation stack. Crossing not until this evening so have plenty of time (have to put in sort of full days work first). Normally takes us bang on 3 hours, so hope 4 hours will do it.

As a ignoramus from up North can I ask what route do you take to the Chunnel when "Operation stack" turns the motorway into a lorry park?

Great link here
Broken Link Removed
essentially via Canterbury - not needed to try so far, but will have to today
I assume there are rat runs, but dont fancy the unchartered territory with a great big motorhome!

From the A2 going around Canterbury you can take the B2068 south towards Hythe. That drops you onto M20 Junction 11 where you can rejoin to get to Junction 11a for the tunnel. That route is currently clear.

Kent police reporting that Operation stack is down to phase one, but still on.

edited to add:
Tweet from P&O ferries:
[Dover] #Opstack is still in place between J8-9, J10-11 have re-opened. We still advise to use the #M2/#A2 where possible to avoid delays

Had one for 5 years many moons ago. Now starting again.
We were on the tunnel last Saturday and the M20 was closed, like now, only between J8 and J9.
We came off at J8 and on to the A20 and followed the yellow diversion signs and then you rejoin at J9.
That added maybe 15 minutes to the journey time.
If you do the longer M2 etc via Canterbury it will add a good 45 minutes.
Despite a queue of lorries when we reached the tunnel exit there was no problem getting to the check-ins.
Different picture on the French side. Huge queues of lorries and never seen so many immigrants around the lorries.
Whichever way you choose have a good trip.

Just made it it- took 4 1/2 hours - full one and half hours extra to normal
Those travelling this weekend beware, added to fact Kent show is on as you start diversion.
Queueing to board - thanks for all the help
On our way
Enjoy :france:

With any luck that's them fitting the high pressure hoses that knock all the illegals off as the train enters the tunnel
