Hi everyone...

On my 654 there is a porch light above the door with a sensor, it is not working although the little orange switch on the far left hand side of the instrument panel when switched can hear an electrical "Fizz" like when a bad connection is made.

I cant seem to see how to get the cover off to see whats going on in there... I have seen a couple of plastic screw things on the inside of the door but they dont seem to do anything as they keep turning.

It would be nice to have that working, so could do with some advice on how to get off the cover etc to replace bulbs etc...

I drove it to work today so will take pics at lunchtime to show what I mean,...

Stu

The orange rocker switch should just 'pop' out.. use a small screwdriver and gentle ease out.. there should be clips on the end of it that you can press in with the driver..

The light looks like the cover just clips on.. just try to ease it off with a small driver.. no excessive force.. if it' doesn't move don't force it.

hi stu i recently fitted a new bulb to the same porch light on my hymer and what you have to do is using both hands gently squeeze the long sides of the plastic lens inwards and ease the lens off [the little round white pir sensor stays behind] so you end up with a lens with a cut out for it. be very carefull with it because they do become very brittle with age and are very easily cracked . it might be worth running around the joint first with a blade just in case somebody has put sealer round it before you. regards garry

The plastic 'screws are probable nuts into which screws enter from the other side. The slot in them is just so they can be held if necessary whilst the screw is tightened.

If your switch has 3 positions it's possible the centre position is OFF with the other positions permanently ON and ON via PIR.

Hi Tony... its a single switch.. looks like the PIR has had some water ingress and is boned...
I will order a new one... found a replacement porch light exactly the same for less than £25 delivered..

Hello All, just picked up a 1996 Hymer B534 - the outside light is not working, along with 2 internal spot lamps and the internal strip light at the back.

The circuit is attached to the Reserve button on the control panel. Looks to me someone has tried to modify the wiring in the past as the wiring to the rocker switch seems wrong (Maybe the spot lights are none standard parts thats the cause of the problem?)

Does anyone know what the Reserve button is supposed to do ?

Pete
