As posted on the Morocco 2016 thread, I've arranged with Jim to have a get-together for anyone who may be interested in going to Morocco. Hopefully some of the "old-hands" will join in so we'll have lots of experience to tap into and be able to answer all of your questions.

We'll bring along maps, books etc. for you to have a look at and maybe some other bits and pieces you might find useful. Might even get someone to prepare a tagine!

The venue will be the Funsters Marquee on the Saturday from 3.00p.m. Bring your own coffee/tea/favoured beverage and we'll scare up some cake or suchlike.

Come on all you ditherers, don't just think about it, DO IT :cooler:

We can give you the co-ords of the parking area where we all meet. Then looking for a group of Brits also should not be an issue. We are likely to meet at a campsite for a few nights prior to crossing so you would be more than welcome to join us there. This last winter we stopped at a ACSI site in Estopona.

Look forward to meeting you @Steveboy in Algeciras if not before.

Colin

All info will be on the "Morocco 2016" thread - suggest you put a "watch" on that one.

We think it's safe, that's why we're still intending to go. We hardly ever go near the cities where the danger, if there is any at all, is most likely to be. Out in Morocco proper we felt safer than in many UK cities. (There's a deal of criticism,of course, about the FO decision on Tunisia, saying it's an over-reaction).

However, it's still early days and we'll note the FO advice nearer the time. The way we plan it, the final decision only needs to be made the day before the ferry crossing.

Nevertheless everybody must make their own decision - based on actualities, not the media "hype" of course.

Just a "bump" reminder for anyone who might be interested.

It's not going to be a formal presentation, just a couple of displays of info, maps, guide books etc. Whilst there will be probably most of the info you're likely to need, there's nothing like chatting to someone who's actually experienced it.

So to this end, anybody who has Morocco experience and could spare an hour or so to join in would be most welcome. We'll give you a badge and you can have first dibs at the chocolate caramel shortcake!

Great forum. Honest thread. Absolutely spot on advice. Each one of us has a stronger chance of copping the Nat Lott Jackpot than becoming a victim of some deranged cretin!
We have witnessed more Frenchies on the Algarve last winter than normal. And, of course, the "Charlie" incident didn't help matters.
You all enjoy now, and return safely,
God's Speed
( am I allowed to say that in 2015?)
Regards, dave

There are no "spaces" - it will just be a group of whatever size of Funsters getting together to cross into Morocco together and then do their own thing.
Off to Scotland for a couple of weeks tomorrow, when we get back I'll start thinking about some details, but it's likely that WE will cross mid-January and you're very welcome to join us.
