all.. I think my RV is a class 4... it can't be a 7, it's too heavy..

I think it says Class 4 on the last test certificate too..

I am trying to get my local car mot'er to test it.. he can do C4 and 7, but he is limited to 3500kgs...

My van has no plate, but it's over 3500GVW.... (but who knows this?? no one)

His brake tester doubles up as an axle weigher, so he can weigh and apply the correct braking forces... the rollers only weigh one axle at a time, so they wont exaclty give the actual weight.. he is in two minds as to weather he can technically mot it..

I am a bit stuck.. it would be great if he can do it, i know him well and he is much more local than my alternative..

I guess I am in a strange/unique position, as him and I and anyone else, doesn't actually know the correct vehicle weight - as manufactured (I have a pretty good idea now though, thanks to ginge from this forum)

does any of that make sense... Am I right in thinking that he may be able to test it, based on the fact that it's GVW is unknown, or that he wont be able to test it, based on the fact he will weigh it and it will be over 3500..

Your Rv is a class 4 and your tester is free to test providing he can fit it in his premisses
check the fee sheet Motor carvan =Class4, weight limits do not apply to Motor Homes

Thanks Geo, a perfect answer to a vague scenario :ROFLMAO:

his ramp is stamped 3500 in one place, and 4000 elsewhere...

he's happy

I may not get under the ramp, however ::bigsmile:

Hi, Why not take it to your local weighbridge and get it weighed? then you'll know for certain and peace of mind. If there is a scrapyard near you they sometimes have weihbridges.

sounds to me like his ramp/lift has a 3500kg SWL and max rated at 4000kg

hope you dont break it. thats a lot of weight from 7ft up.:Eeek:
