Had our first trip during last week of May 1/2 term (wife works in school so unavoidable). Travelled thro tunnel on telco club card points. Stayed first night at Camping Domaine Catiniere at Fiquefleur Eqauinville about 3 miles from Honfleur. an excellent site, good facilities, spotless, charming hosts and made us very welcome. Definitely go back approx 22 Euros per night. Stayed one night. Travelled down to Indre Sur Chatillon and stayed at friends house for 4 days with 4 others. entered the local Boules competition and we were made very welcome. Visited chateaux, drank wine, ate cheese and added much weight. Drove back up to La Mailleraye sur seine aire. This is a lovely stop the village has WW2 history and watching the improbably huge boats pass down the river that is yards from the Moho was quite special 5 euros stop very cheap and good value. A great appetiser for more trips when we retire soon. The roads were easy, tolls a doodle, fuel cheap and shopping interesting. anyone looking to embark on their first French adventure go for it.

Have used that aire many times.. a useful stopover en route south.

It used to be better value when it was free ..

La Mailleraye is one of our favourites as well, we'll be there next week for the third time this year.

We were there, almost on our own, in December when it was free. ;)
