Awning Problem In France. (advice Needed) (1 Viewer)

Hi all. Am currently at Parc Verger. We have the Omnistor 800 6mtr electric awning. Unfortunately last night it chucked it down with rain. Thought we had enough angle on the awning for water run off, but no, woke up to find a huge lake being supported. To cut a long story short. The right hand support arm snapped at the swivel point on the casing attached to the side of van. the front facia plate is slightly out of shape also. Have managed to get it back into the casing with a lot of very dark expletives being voiced (just about). does anyone who has been to the area, know of any dealers that may be able to help, either by replacing the awning or getting spare parts (if it can be done) Any help will be welcome. Here until the 19th. Thanks , Bill & Eileen.

Had a similar experience years ago with a non electric awning. Thought it meant a new one but belgian dealer replaced parts and it cost 200 euro. Just look around online for someone who sells and services nearby?

Judgemental. Hahaha think your right, Eileens just rang them, but her knowledge of the French language fell so short of what was required, we just had to end the call. If we turned up think we would be in the same position. Sign language might be the answer, point & hold our arms out.

I think you will be able to get the spare parts, we had a similar problem, but returned home and replaced the RH arm on our Thule Omnister awning, a chap in Huddersfield swapped it over for us for £30, he used a socket set and hubby said he would have a go if it happened again. Chap said you can get all the spares, we did think we might need a front Facia too but once we had fit new arm and had awning completely out again it clicked back in fine. Our dealers had said repair was a no no and wanted to sell us a new awning, same size as yours. Ours didnt have a motor but this was a pic of parts for ours to give you some idea.

Granjan. Thank you so much. You just made an old man extremely happy. Knowing that we CAN get the parts has lifted me no-end. Have had an extremely kind offer from a local funster. Who I am about to ring. Fingers crossed we could be sorted soon.
