Thought I would share the details of the 2 little shelves I made for my autocruise startrail.
When we were relaxing of an evening it was a bit constricting to put a table up between the lounge seats so I come up with these 2 little shelves which go behind the cab seats. When the capns chairs are turned round they are very handy to put a glass on. Mine will take a full pint glass as well as a wine glass.

I got one of those profiling combs from poundland and luckily got some conti board which was very near the rest of the wood in tbe van

They are fixed using a low profile shelf bracket vwhich came in a pack of 2 from homebase for about £10.

When you turn the chairs you can still do this with the chairs in place.

Nice and handy for your dring and out of the way so you dont knock your drink over.

I covered in anti slip matting so you can also put things there while driving such as glasses etc
Hope its useful to someone

Phill

Not long enough!
Good idea(y)
Thinking of doing the same in my Hymer for when in the pull down bed, I can put a small shelf for book and phone on the end of the cupboard run, but have yet to find anything that matches:whistle:

Just one thing, if you do get some of the sprung type swing-up ones in the ebay link you'll need 2 of them as the way they 'swing' the shelf out means that you can't use them with a standard hinge(s) - I know 'cause I got one for my worktop extension in the camper (to replace the plastic £2.99 swing-out type and had to go back and get a second!).

For just a small shelf personally I'd go with the £2.99 plastic swing-out one along with a couple of small standard hinges.

All very good and laudable - but we have these and they're portable - as bought by some fabulous friends of ours . . . . .

I use this one tends to get your beer warm if left to long, and no problem if you spill it as easily licked up

Several years now
We knew a lass who kept a can of Fosters in the same place, plus her ciggys and lighter and a purse !
Rather a well endowed girl.
She went by the nickname of "Swiss army tits". Whenever she lost anything in there she was always sure of offers of help to find it.
