Hi,

We're newbie here...we are trying to sort our new-to-us Hymer B584 Scooter Rack. (See picks attached) Is it missing a vertical stability bar/post to anchor the scooter vertically and stop it leaning into the MH? Has anyone got similar? If it needs a mod/add on, can anyone recommend an engineer?

What are we missing?...desperate to get our scooter on to tame these Cornwall villages!! :)

Ooops, sorry folks. Hopefully the pics are displayed this time. We'd appreciate any suggestions on taming this rack for scooter use :)

That looks to me like a cycle rack. Have you checked rear wheel loading before loading a scooter? The loop that's folded out would steady a bicycle.

Thanks for your help...Peter advised me that all his scooter racks were done by Mick Parkinson (also Preston, 07887-997653). It seems that they were designed to meet Hymer specs for a 120kg. scooter and were anchored to the seat by the swing out aluminium tubing off the back wall.

That looks like the Hymer approved rack to me , I think It slides back into the bumper cut out doesn't it ? Nice rack. A friend had one.

Hi I had same pull out rack on my hymer , but the picture you posted shows the scooter being loaded up the ramp from the right hand side of the van viewed from the rear and as you have a ladder there the scooter handle bars will not get past it! If it can be loaded from the other side you might have to remove the bike mirror nearest the van, I had a alluminium channel fitted across the back of the van and made up a stay to secure the scooter handle bars. Hope this helps.

Ahhh...yes, thank you Mickymouse!Where you you source the aluminium channel and bar from? The MH isn't at Stratford this weekend by any chance?

Sorry sold van 2 years ago , I would imagine most dealers can supply the aluminum bar as most sell the tie down eyes which fit into it, I live in Spain and we are in Portugal at the moment
