No but if you buy a rafter don't get the curved one! In hot weather it causes the canvas to sag over it so it stretches and then never winds back in without creases.

Hi,

we have the 5mt 8000 and it doesnt come with a centre rail.
When we went to the Lincoln show I spoke to a trader who had a van with the 8000 on and he said that he was going to buy one as the thing flapped about a lot.
As you know this awning is 2.75 mts deep, so even though the arms are supposed to self tension to keep the awning tight, its a big area without any additonal support. So we have just bought the curved centre rail and I fitted it this week.

all the best.

Also I think many users don't use it properly or read the instructions.
When wound it it should be locked in place with the thumb turns on the leader bar and then wound back in to create the tension.
Of course it is important to remember to do that in reverse to decamp wind out unlock then wind in.

Thanks, but 'JRTFM' did apply and even so it does still flap about in the slightest breeze!

Hi All

Thanks for all of the replies.

I was sure the people we bought our motor-home from demonstrated the use of the centre rail but I can't find it in her anywhere and they are denying all knowledge now of one now. :(
