hi ,small amount of hairline cracks are appearing in shower tray that appear not to be sufficiently supported underneath . common problem .i am thinking of drilling a small hole into the outside wooden surround and using expansion foam to provide a hard base is there any thing under the shower tray appart from plumbing that i should be concerned about thanks in advance ,

Have just done something similar with my Hymer although it was to stop a small leak in the shower drain 90 deg bend. Should be fine provided you never need to get under there - there were pipes and heating ducts under mine so just be aware that the heating ducts will get quite warm.

You need to be careful that the foam does not blow too much and lift the tray base and then set.

If you can get it out I would be inclined to reinforce the back with epoxy and glass fibre.

the easiest and cheapest route would be to get the tray sprayed with bed liner rubberised paint rather than replace the cracked tray

Hi Bill it comes in nearly any colour. you can buy cans in a car accessory shop
getting it done professionally costs from about £150 upwards depending who you use. its the same stuff used to coat the inside of refrigerated vans so you dont need to go to a motorhome/caravan specialist

I will have a look tomorrow not paying £150 will re spray it my shelf thanks for the info @TheBig1

I'm all for DIY but if you don't reinforce the tray, just spraying it with a coating won't stop it 'sagging' ...

thank you for the advice will use foam targeting the unsupported area then use rubberised paint that i bought of ebay .very difficult to remove tray thancks again
