Have taken the plunge and now have 240w of solar on the roof charging vehicle bat and x2 100 ah leisure batteries (via MPPT). Gaslow kit (x2 11kg with external filling point) goes in next Monday...

Phew....

Will then take a rest before exploring the sat system - thinking of a dome...

Have you considered a battery to battery charger too?
A great way to keep your leisure batteries topped up when driving

Not long enough, but a little common sense helps..........
Think long and hard about a "Sat" system unless you really need "Sky UK" side as with good TV aerial and TV you can get enough channels to fill you nights. I have the Mobilsat system and to date not used it whilst in UK ( to windy anyway to day ). Save your money.

I went for a dome because of the wind and I also forgot to put the dish down once and drove for about 10 miles(luckily no damage done) but I'm not sure I would bother now, maybe just stick to freeview.

Some people say that Sat domes take their vehicle over 3 metres on French tolls, it will depend what height you are now.

You should not be able to drive with it up if it's installed properly as an ignition wire should drop it down.

Dome's are great for UK, but you will loose BBC ITV etc 3/4 down France.
We have dome, on our recent return trip from Spain we parked about 30 miles after somport tunnel and were able to receive all British channels.

The dish was already on our Motorhome and it was a Maxview Semitronic and it had no link with the ignition!

I filled the new Gaslow (x2 11Kg) systen for the first time today - at a small local garage. Total cost £26.83.

Considering the usual £23.50 for one 6Kg C'lite - happy days IMO.

Roadpro dome now on order.....cant wait!

How have you got on with the Gaslow system? Would you recommend it? How did you have it installed?
Thanks in advance.

In short, yes highly recommend it - this weekend post Norfolk show; plus two other off-grid trips and the refil cost for one of the 11kg bottles was £6.73 vs. £22.50 for the usual 6kg Calor lite.

Reference install, I got my guy who does my hab check to fit (went for the filling point to be fitted external on the lower trim) and I am well pleased.

Where did you fill? At the petrol station with LPG?
Do you mind me asking how much it cost for your installation?
Thanks for your help.
We are considering it. Currently have 2 x 6kg calor-lite but intend to be full time inhabiters France-side.
