Cabarceno, not far from Santander. Lovely spot, free, waste dump, water, peace and quiet, and literal 2 minutes to the village on foot. Right next to a wild life park.

Another vote here for Cabarceno. We stayed there in February and had a lovely meal in one of the restaurants.

Agreed, but the water supply is a bit questionable - bring your own.

The water tap near the waste dump is not for drinking in my book, but, ten yards towards the village is a spring water font which is superb. We filled the tank from the tap, and 5 litre water containers from the font. It was a local who put us on to this.

Thanks for that. I saw it but didn't know if it was a spring or just a stream confined to a pipe.

Stayed at Caberceno last December after long sailing to Santander.
On our return we found another good wild place to stop before our ferry home at Suances, not too far from Santander.
It was opposite The Hotel El Caserio near the lighthouse on some waste ground. There were 2 more motorhomes there with surfboards. Also had a good meal at the hotel!

Yes it's pure spring water. We met a lady who was filling her drinking water containers, and she was telling us about how pure it was. She had lived in Spain for 30 years, and fills up there regularly, when she visits her daughter, who works at the wild life park.

Many thanks to all. Does anyone think there will be a problem getting in there. We'll be arriving there on 13th June. We will then go to Santiago de compostella and then across northern spain to Andorra. Any advice welcome. Doug
