We are currently staying on Camperarea Campello Beach which only opened late last year. It is a really well thought out site, probably because the owners, Yolanda and Jorge, are Motorhomers too. The pitches are a good size (with 2 suitable for wheelchair users) and the facilities are immaculate. There is a lovely pergola with a screen roof to provide shade and 2 bench tables underneath and there is an additional table with chairs in the sun. There is a lovely boules pitch and lots of attractive planting around the site which will look even more stunning in a couple of years when it has had chance to mature. The site is only a 2 minute walk from the beautiful sandy beach at Muchavista, about 3 miles south of El Campello. The tram line runs along the beach and from the nearby station you can get the tram to Benidorm, Calpe, Villajoyosa or Alicante. It is only 6 miles to Alicante and it was an easy cycle ride with stunning views along the coast. The whole area looks like it is being done up and is very nice. It has the benefit of being a lovely quiet area with a few shops and restaurants but close enough to walk to El Campello if you want a lot more. It feels very secure and the gate closes automatically at 8pm so entry after this is only possible with a code so no strangers wandering in. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Pila (I think that's how you spell her name), who manages the site is fab, always smiling and singing and she ensures that all the facilities are kept immaculate. We have just been joined by fellow funsters DoubleD (Deb and David) so it's like a mini funster meet as Deb and David are leading me astray, plying me with alcohol and keeping me up until 1am
