I've stayed at the C&CC Bedgellert site. Steam train stop at the campsite & C&CC members get a discount if you show your card when paying on the train.
Good shop on the site with its own bakery.

There is a big car park at the snowden train station, never tried it but maybe they would let you stay if you ask

Thanks for that Chaser if there's no public transport from where we end up then we should be able to drive and park for the day perhaps

There are some good car parks around and in Snowdonia, lots of camp sites dotted around also no real problem wild camping. Enjoy.

Hi there, we ended up on a small site called Lily's derwen at Llanrug nice site really friendly and helpful owner called Emrys, we walked to Llanberis on a back road with stunning views, weather was turning when we got there so got the mountain train up Snowdon but we were in a cloud at the top but great views on way up, we are going to go again but we will walk up( the easy route), train was packed and uncomfortable, went to slate museum which was interesting and entry was free!
