I've had a mooch on the French bit and despite there being no Aires listed there are still a good few 'Municipal ' sites which are a welcome break from Aires if you need a washing machine to do all your bedding and clothes, a hook up and some showers.
We used a couple last year in our 5 week tour and they were extremely comfortable and we only paid a tenner a night. If you haven't been before don't think of municipal as being some scruffy council affair - we had our own private lawned area leading down to the river and the site was spotless.
