Hi folks, can anyone out there recommend a lightweight gas bbq that is suitable for the 30 mb pressure of our motorhome ? Cheers

Agreed - Cadac Safari Chef - around £80 or a bit less if you shop around. Make sure you get the LP model which will use the regulator in the van (via a separate LPG take-off point I assume).

That's also answered my problem of which to buy this year as our old cheapo one has finally rotted away. We have an auxilery gas outlet on the door side of our RV so won't bother with a regulator.

I use one of these £24 off Ebay, we cook the food in tin foil trays from Lidl or Aldi which stops the fat dripping on the coals and burner.

If you use a tinfoil tray and put your beans in it, it warms them up. Whilst frying your bacon, eggs, mushrooms, sausage tomatoes and eggs. Mmmmmmmmmmm

Swiss design and works as an oven if you wan't to roast a joint or slow cook a casserole. Done home-made pizza on it and paellas for a group of people Beats the Cadacs hands down. I've had them all and this one is a keeper

Phew at £160 less accessories I expect it to give the Cadac a run for it`s money, looks like a gas Weber bbq.

Haven't tried a Cadac so can't compare directly but I also have the Outdoor Chef City grill and it's a great bit of kit. Recently used it to cook full English breakfasts for 6 (including pre-baked bread rolls) and dinners for the same folks. Very versatile and the design means no fat flare-ups. Available for under £100 if you shop around.

After lugging various contraptions around with me of various complexity or spent ages with fluids, charcoal and dust everywhere I've bought one of these this week.

Apparently one of the small bottles lasts for around 30 hrs of bbq'ing so that's the 4 or 5 weeks in France covered.

As soon as I took it out the box I was pleased with how well put together it was. Nothing flimsy or wobbly. Calor have done themselves proud with it.

Super simple to set up and use, looks like it should last years judging by the build quality and big enough for 2 to 4 to bbq on. Cost me £37 quid (but they gave me a tenner back when I pointed out it was scratched along the top).

That's when some sort of electric frying pan or griddle is useful - if you have a suitable EHU of course.

Because guys, allegedly, don't know how to work a gas hob however all of the "fairer" sex believe they have an inbuilt gene that is dedicated to bbq operation!

BBQ on anything other than over charcoal is not a real BBQ even these gas under lava rock Things. It just don't taste the same.
Having said that I use gas and a skillet pan when away in the van for outdoor frying.

Yep, that's reasonable point of view, so I take it you don't do barbecuing when at home then.
For me, there are times when it can be just too hot to cook inside the van.
Also, given the opportunity, I'd rather cook things like fish outside, 'cause no matter how good the extractor fan is in the van they never manage to stop the smell of fish lingering, sometimes for days

Nope, got better things to do with my time than stand about getting covered in smoke burning food, if it's too hot what's wrong with a salad.
The boss has a Kadai for cooking curries a bit heavy to take in the van.
