First time on the Channel Tunnel at the beginning of June. Are there any service stations close to Calais on the A16 to fill up with diesel.

The Aire de la Baie de Somme is on the A16 just before Abbeville. There may be one closer to Calais.

Had one for 5 years many moons ago. Now starting again.
As you leave the tunnel there is a fuel station within 100m but it's about 7 or 8 cents a litre more than the supermarket fuel. But that's still around 25p a litre cheaper than UK.
If you click on here: Broken Link Removed
Click on Gazole then either put Calais in the search box or wherever and up will come a list of fuel stations with their price. You can put a town in or on the map click on a department to get a whole list. If you click on the far right of a place it will give you a map.
The very nearest to the tunnel for cheap fuel is the Carrefour in Cité d'Europe but it's height restricted.
The tunnel ones are counted as Coquelles not Calais.

The service stations are expensive, you want to pull off and go to a supermarket. Just off Junction 31 there is a big Auchan with fuel station, leave A16 and follow N42 St Omer, then you pick up the signs for Centre Commercial. It's about 20 minutes from the tunnel.

that is where we head for beginning and end of every trip....credit card works OK if unmanned/out of hours as well

Another vote for Auchan at Coquelles - consistently the cheapest fuel for miles.

50.94296, 1.81029
Yes used that one several times.

If you have another 20 miles in your tank you can also use Auchan at Boulogne Saint-Martins, its at the last exit before the toll section starts.

50.73249, 1.668161

Both have LPG, the Boulogne one is more difficult to access if your filler in on the RHS of your MH.

At Outreau 'le portal' near Boulogne sur mer there's a cheap fuel station ...

Been to Auchan at Coquelles many times but we were pointed to another one on here a couple of years back.

Junction 36 heading for Marquise. It's just off the A16 and it's an Intermarche supermarket.

Auchan Coquelles (Avenue Roger Salengro) has a card only 24 hour service lane on the right as you go in, otherwise it's pay at the booth (Caisse) on the left side if it's normal opening hours. Very handy, and as others have said, low prices compared to Autoroute stations.

Auchan Coquelles (Avenue Roger Salengro) has 24 hour card-only service on the right side and pay at the booth on the left side so it's very handy, and can be up to 20 cents a litre cheaper than the Autoroute services. For an 80 litre tank that's a 16 Euros saving, over £10 at current rates.

Aire 2 Caps from tunnel in the direction of Rouen about 20 mins drive I think. Fuel not as cheap as supermarkets but easy to find, shop café and showers. We usually stop there for the night when we do Dover Calais.

Do not go over too empty, if it is your first time abroad it is possible your cards will not work first time, or you may struggle with the auto pumps, we have been going for years and still get it wrong

We prefer for convenience to use service areas where we can then pay cash (our preference and choice, it is different to most but what we like)

We have run on nearly empty for more miles than I would like, off motorways there are not as many fuel stations as we have here, most use the supermarkets, but a lot of supermarkets have height restrictions, unless you go for the auto pay options and they can be very tight access depending on how big your MH is, another reason why we prefer service areas

Have fun, don't worry too much about this but be aware of the differences between UK and France (y)

But the difference between supermarket and service area can be as much as 20 cents a litre, then you're talking at least 3 bottles of decent french wine.
