I'm just trying to gain a consensus on Fun as to the use of either glass or acrylic drinking vessels. We currently use acrylic but would much prefer to drink from glass. Anyone any advice as to storage, safety etc whilst using glass?

On and off for many years.
Hate acrylic so we always use glass. I have put pipe insulation collars around ours so they don't rattle and there is a bit of protection against breakage.

We also have pottery plates and mugs. :)

I have glass for my wine, hubby quite happy with acrylic for wine and straight from the can or bottle for beer, I usually pour my lager into an acrylic glass. Pottery mugs but plastic plates.

Definitely glass! Used acrylic for years whilst caravanning, but really never liked it. I have found that bubble wrap envelopes are perfect, just slip each glass into one and job done. Then I have a plastic basket that fits onto a shelf in the kitchen and I pop all the mugs and glasses in that for travelling. (y)

To wrap my glasses in, not to drink out of, obviously. Saw Tootles was about and thought I should add that!

Glass and real crockery and proper knives and forks. Cookware is home stuff but the cheap stuff because it's thinner and lighter. plates go in a plate rack, everything else just put in the cupboard. The cupboard is lined with the non slip stuff from the pound shop.

In over 8 years tugging and moho I've only had one glass break on the move...

Always glass for the beer/wine (not allowed any spirit as it makes me attack all the Germans on site) but Mrs BB has become very taken by Corelle plates etc...................who am I to argue? :)

The kids do ALL the washing up, so it's polycarbonate stuff in the MH for us. However, if I was on a 'grown-ups' only trip, I'd definitely use glass.
The cocktail cabinet in our van has such a strong magnet - I find it hard (read nigh on impossible) to pull it open IN the 'open' position. I obviously have muscles like sparrows' kneecaps!

Acrylic. Would prefer glass but we would end up with too many breakages.

Drinking GLASSESS, China mugs, corelle plates.
We smashed a boxfull of mugs moving from overnighting at the ferry to driving onto it. Took a lovely chip out of the worktop too. Someone hadn't ensured the latch caught on the cupboard after breakfast
Looked like a Greek restaurant in the (then) caravan

We use these one for china beakers and one for wine glasses

Denby china plates that travel inside cloth bags that were hanging around the house. Plenty clean tea towels too that pad out and get used.
