Hi everyone, we have just upgraded from first a T2 bay and more recently a T5 LWB which we have just sold and purchased a Fiat Ducato Swift Sunator from West Country motorhomes in somerset.
We have had the VW's for 4 years, the T2 (named after Dougal from the magic roundabout) we had for 18 months and was a romance buy as we loved the look of them, we had great fun and loved the scene but was always worrying about breaking down, no heating, power steering and all those other mod cons eventually took their toll and we upgraded to a T5.
The T5 was named Mrs Pepperpot because she was Paprika red and was my daily driver as well as our campervan. We carried out many mods over the 2.5 years we had her, new poptop roof, 3/4 rock and roll bed, the list goes on. But I recently managed to get a job that came with a company car and so I thought if the van is going to sit on the drive all week, when we go out at the weekend i'd like to have something with more space, a bigger bed, a shower, a proper cooker, a proper toilet, plus i'm getting closer to retirement and hopefully have more time to do longer trips and the T5 was ok for a week but not longer.
So, we have put a deposit on the Fiat, we pick it up on May 17th and can't wait, first trip will be to Dartmouth the weekend after.
Gill will be along at some point to say hi, she is the reader and information gatherer, I do the writing and posting of pictures
And this is Ozzie, because the reg ends in OZ-C
