Decided to join all the freeloading tossers at Silves, but are we in the right place? Am in the unofficial Aire by the swimming pool and river. But no sign of any engines being changed or long term living set ups. Lots or johnny foreigners but other than that all peace and quiet.

Is there somewhere less salubrious I should be?

By the way it is p*****g it down at the moment.

yeah yeah yeah, rub it it in won't you. :D But the sun lasts about as long in Wales as the rain does in Portugal, so we will soon be happy again.

Yes and I might pass a mirror and see a freeloading tosser. ;)

Don't think that would be a big seller at all Jim. 99% of Funsters don't wild camp, and that same percentage prefer wine; have left the Funster tent by 11pm and are tucked up in bed with cocoa

I'd wear one though ;)

Not sure Peter - I think we will be moving West but will let you know in the morning. The coordinates are N37.06646 and W8.79651. I have them in degrees minutes and seconds if you prefer!

Hi Cliff and Geraldine, Now checked where you are and I did not realise that you were that far west already. Did you not stop at Armacou? It looks to be colder in the west for the next few days and we want to see a bit more of the coast between here and Silves so will probably make our way more slowly towards that area. What are your intentions for the weekend and after?

Not sure really - if the weather stays bad we may head inland to the lakes and head up that way. I want to visit Santiago de Compostella and Galicia but apart from that we have no fixed plans! Make sure you visit Lagos - it's lovely. We are now at Sagres near Cape St. Vincent and its mucho windy!

I suspect we will be heading there for the weekend, so hope to see you then. That's if it ever stops bloody raining!

I think we are moving to Silves today. The weather has improved on the coast today but we need to do some very particular shopping and Armaçāo ain't got it.

Is HRH @JJ in residence? When we passed through last week we couldn't see that old charabanc Classic Hymer of his?

No early morning siren here, unlike Elvas. But are we at the place everybody has been talking about.

12 mid day = Siren time at Silves.

(12 mid day = early morning in my world.)

My winter visit to the Algarve is now over.

I am on my way to Paradise (my tiny orchard called Quinta Majay) in Central Portugal.

I will spend some time grass cutting, tree and vine pruning and navel contemplating and then go (slowly) to the South of France to visit my Princess.

We intend to spend a weekend at the Twin Lakes gathering.

That is as far as I have got in my Life Plan.

JJ

Having overnighted at Sagres we are getting water and groceries at the Intermarche, spending a couple of hours at Cape St Vincent before overnighting on a beach somewhere!

View from our door this morning - a bit different from last night!

Certainly looks good. Have you got the coordinates please, in case we manage to get that far west before we have to set off back home.

Peter & Angela
Hi Peter - don't have coordinates but if you go to Carrapateira its a lefthand turn once you go through the tiny village - signposted for the beach. (y)

Hi Peter - weather was fine here yesterday - a black cloud hung over the hills behind us but stayed there all day and we were in the sun! Sunny here today but with a chilly wind. We are moving up to Aljezur today.
