After having a lovely weekend, there we were driving back from Tintagel only for a van to smash my drivers side wing mirror case to smithereens, glass is ok, to say I'm gutted is an understatement, anyhow I can't do anything about it now but I've been looking online to try and get a replacement with no joy so far, it's a 2007 Swift Bolero, heated mirror, electrically adjustable......just to make things even more expensive , any ideas on where to look?

The op's mirror is electrically adjusted and heated.....the one in your link is neither.

Unfortunately it got clouted on the outside edge and the indicators smashed to pieces as well, I think I might invest in some covers once I get this sorted

I have handled both versions of the mirror guards, in my opinion they are more ornamental than protection

To be honest I'm not sure, because it got hit near the outside edge the indicators got smashed as well so and the cover doesn't protect that part very well does it

My O/S one got smashed off by a tractor , I had a Mirrorguard on, did not so any good protecting mine, I replaced the complete mirror with a shortened arm van version, to reduce the risk of it happening again.

I'm glad you said that because I'm wondering why the arm needs to be so long, obviously visibility is still OK with a shorter arm?
With the current wing mirrors they seem a bit oversize and susceptible to it happening again

You do lose a small amount of vision, but not a lot, I don't know if it would work on the passengers side though due to the angle.

Had one busted by a lorry. Rapido aclass mirrors, heated electric etc, over a grand to replace. Ouch.

IMO and I have mirror guards, they will not protect your mirror if the two vehicles are moving ( each vehicle approaching at 10 mph makes an impact of 20 mph) but they will offer some protection to the mirrors at low level impact, when only the base vehicle is moving.
To lose £150 for moving vehicles accident is bad enough; to lose that amount when the impact is low level is a bummer.
Compare the gauge of plastic on a wing mirror to that of a mirror guard an you will quickly see how much protection they offer.
