Mums eyesight isn't great but when she was up making my over cab bed she spotted a very little mould on the paper covering.

I've pulled the paper back to reveal this. It's where the over cab side meets the front. There is at tiny hole in the wood under the seal.

Do you think we might have caught it early.
What should I do to stop it getting worse as we can't put it in for repair for a few weeks since we will be using it.
How much do you think it will cost to fix?

The answer is outside not inside. Look at the joints and maybe do a temporary repair with silicon till you can do a proper job which might mean removing aluminium strips.

I've heard people talking about silkaflex. Which shops sell it. I can only see it online?

Think I've read somewhere it's 512?
Thx will try Screw fix.
Screwfix stock Sikaflex EBT. When I needed to do some sealing I was told that EBT is the same as 512. Whether that is true I don't know - but it worked OK.

On and off for many years.
Good luck Sandra.

Get it sealed and dried out - hopefully the repair won't take long or cost much.

If it doesn't feel damp it might be that the previous owner fixed it but didn't change the lining which could be awkward to get at

Might be worth a quick call to them, they might even know a bit more about it

If it is still damp, my suggestion would be to get it to somebody to sort out, sealant is not east to apply in the hands of the untrained (me very included in that), also somebody who does it for a living will have a better idea where to look, damp will track along things, so it may not be leaking in right alongside where it appears inside

Good luck

Maybe time to invest in a damp meter, all MHs should have one.
I have one but don't want to poke holes in MH.
Just picked up silkaflex at Screwfix. Will give it a go as a temporary measure.
Does it have to be dry outside? Still pouring of rain.
Bloody Scottish weather!

I didn't mean that they weren't genuine, but we had a leak on our previous MH, got it fixed properly from the outside, but did not do the lining above the drop down bed due to expense, it didn't look pretty but was no longer damp and only seen when that bed was in use (very rare). They might have fixed it before you bought it

Or do you know it has only appeared since you got it?

Last weekend has been a bad one for you, that Scottish horizontal rain is not one of your countries better features :D

If you are just doing a temporary fix till you can get the job done properly then try this product from the outside. The likes of sika etc are only really suitable for the proper repair, Captain Tolleys will do what it says on the tin:)

For temp repairs I have used Wickes Clear All Weather Sealant. It is polymer based and can be used in the wet. Just wipe the surface before you apply it. You can do a more permanent job in better weather.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. This is just such a great forum to be part of :)
Ive done a girly job so fingers crossed it at least stops it for a forntnight til our diary is clear. I am keeping Vanessa home so that I can keep my eye on her.
Have a heater in drying her off.
David...You are right, its this bloody scottish weather, rain rain and more rain and where Vanessa is kept it is very exposed, is at the house too mind you.
