Hi we are looking for a suitcase generator and the Honda seems to be the most 'silent'.

Mike has to use an Oxygen Concentrator for 15 hours a day so we need a small generator to charge the batteries of the machine when we are on rallies.

Thanks Phillip, I have just had a pm quoting Pete power and pointing out that the 1.0 generator is not as good as the 2 and that it would be a better buy.

A 1kw generator is just as good as a 2kw generator if you don't need more than 1kw of power.

I would be surprised if you need 2kw of power to charge the batteries...

Still... What would I know! ;)

It is undoubtedly true that the EU20i is a stronger beast than the EU10i. Pete Power says so on his website. It is to do with the Honda engine that drives it. The 20i has a bigger engine that can be re-sleeved in the event of cylinder wear whereas the smaller engine in the 10i does not.
However, are you considering it as an industrial unit or a leisure generator? I know of a local flower-seller with a stall in Banbury town centre who has been running an EU10i all day for years.
My EU10i is more than adequate for my use which includes powering the strimmer in the garden. And I can lift it fairly easily at 13 kg. The EU20i weighs 21 kg without fuel so reckon on hauling 50 lbs in and out of the van.

Well we only need it to power the batteries in the oxygen concentrator, so if we can acquire one which has not had a lot of use maybe the 1.0 would be ok?

We did think that solar panels, 2 leisure batteries and an inverter might be sufficient, but Mike thinks we will need a generator to do the job. We certainly don't want to miss any of the funster rallies!!

Have you considered buying some spare batteries for the unit? I'll bet you could buy a good few cheaper than a gennie and not have to lug it and petrol everywhere.
