Can someone point me in the right direction regarding my electrical set up please ?

I have a 110 amp leisure battery.
A 140 watt solar panel & 20 amp mppt controller.
A 1000 watt pure sine invertor .

I think all the 12v system should be fine Eberspacher, tv, lights.

But how much use will I get out of the invertor for a toaster / hairdryer with a power consumption of 770 - 900 watt.

I assume that a 800 watt combi microwave will be only useable on ehu ?

We do have gas cooking facilities so the microwave although handy is not essential.

Thanks John.

1000 watts is about 100 amps load on your battery. Hit the battery with that and you are talking 15 mins to flat.

Yes I know the numbers do not add up because a battery can't handle 100A, it's designed for more like 10A and remember that 110Ah can only be used 50% to be kind to your battery.

Double up on battery ah would give you more options. We have 160ah and can use microwave etc, but we have 2000watt inverter and 320watts of solar to put it back in.

A second battery would be good for two reasons; firstly its stores more energy to enable the use of things for longer including the inverter, and secondly it halves the current taken from each battery when the inverter is in use.
We have two 105AH batteries and 200W solar. Using our 1500W inverter we can use our 800W microwave, which takes 125Amps from the battery bank. Over the past year all (except for one day) our teas and coffee has been made using our inverter and a 800W travel kettle. In fact most of the time the solar supplies more power than I can drink coffee to use it. The only day our whistler kettle saw a gas flame on its bottom was after 3 really miserable days traveling down the romantic road in Germany. The next day was sunny and normal service was resumed.

Agree with last poster. The best thing you can do is get a second battery. Afraid your microwave will probably not be usable as you will be overloading your inverter. An 800w microwave will probably draw around 1200w, with a starting peak probably double that. Your inverter will probably work for a while but its life may be very short.

Agreed with Reallyretired the microwave will require more than 1000W.

The microwave fitted in our MH is a Baumatic BTM20.5SS 20 Litre Microwave Oven
The technical data I received from Technical@baumatic.co.uk
Electrical connection rating (W) 1250
Maximum microwave power (W) 800
Power supply voltage (V) 230
Frequency (Hz) 50
Fuse rating (AMPS) 8

The microwave is designed to operate off a standard 230v,50 hz supply.
The 8amp fuse rating is an internal fuse on the mains filter pcb.The fuse in the plug should be 13amp.

It works well on our 1500W pure sine wave inverter.

Thankyou for the replys (y)

Looks like the best I can do is get another leisure battery
As I've fitted the largest flexible panel on the roof that I could get.

I thought the microwave was a non starter  but if we can make toast for 10 minutes that would be good.

We have one like the sun camp and brilliant for testing the smoke alarm.

It also makes toast.
