have any members experience/knowledge where I can get a new ignition key for our Sprinter conversion (1999) snapped the original off while locking rear doors. Have had some silly quotes from local |Locksmiths (£120.00 plus) who cannot guarantee a new one will work or have a 'chip' included.
Would welcome any helpful suggestions asap as cannot drive the camper anywhere without starting engine.

Timpsons provided our two duplicate keys for a price cheaper than others in our area (I think that they were approx £35 each during a half price promotion). You may get them cheaper on the web if you can get the chip code.

Good luck searching eBay etc. These keys are expensive especially if you want the smart ones with buttons.

Some Timpsons outlets can make chipped keys -apparantly they copy the key shape and you have to use the old fob and new fob together so the code is transferred. Haven't used them myself but was advised this was a possibility. Not all Timpson outlets have the new keys though that have the transponders

Does the key have buttons and a replaceable battery or is it purely a transducer key ?

My car key is the button version....dealer price £170....eBay, shell only with blank blade....£3 Inc postage from china.
Remove electronics and battery from old key ad insert in new shell then get blank cut.
Search ebay for key shell.

thanks to you all for helpful response, found a guy/company (Harfords Security) in Nelson St. Dewsbury, West Yorks. Did the job in 10 mins. complete with the chip for £20. job sorted.

I wonder if they will do me a Fiat key for my lost one for my auto trail?

Fairly certain they can't do it with a Fiat, it's a main dealer job depending on year anything between £180 to £300.
Pleased A Class Hymers don't have central locking only £55 for a key.:)
