Have heard there not worth the money, very little power, some on here advise getting gas powered hair straighteners. (y)

I don't bother with a hairdryer. I let my hair dry naturally then use my straighteners to tame the tangle!
Do you use gas powered hair straightener ?

If so, what model?

I'm sure that if someone could make a great one it would be a best seller.

12v hairdryer I found that it is quicker to let your hair dry naturally than use it.

Shut all your vents on the hot air blower except one, then fit a convoluted hose to the open one and turn up the heat to max,
Shouldn't take lone to dry the missus hair

it would need to be at least 500 watt to do the job..

at 12vdc that pulls ~ 42 amps.. the flex would be as thick as welding cable .. or battery jump leads with same size croc clips..
So are you saying it will never be made? I bet if a bloke wanted / needed this item of desire a way could be found to produce :)

If you reduce the wattage to an acceptable current, say 4 amps .. that only gives you 48watt .. just doesn't cut it ..

use a gas heat exchanger and a 12v blower could do the job .. but would be expensive to develop and market.. customer base big enough ?

sorry.. not investing.. I'm out

hah ha .. someone has patented it already

Jill has BaByliss Pro Cordless Hair Tongs in two sizes and a Braun (I think) straightener, all gas powered. I only know because she just bought the larger tongs to replace the 15 year old Braun equivalent which went wrong last weekend.

That explains it then!

Perhaps one crocodile clip on each pinkie finger, connect to battery via jump leads, and immediate curly hair.

Ah, but it's hair straightening she is after. Never mind.

  • Lifeventure softfibre trek towel.
  • Brush or comb.
  • Then let your hair "go freelance" as Him Indoors calls mine.
They'll dry anything, they come in various sizes. I have giant in the moho (for showering), medium in my rucksack (for rainy hikes), small in my daysack (for whatever)...
(They do other types of fibre, not as good IMO, and definitely NOT the microfibre.)

Got mine on fleabay £35 posted, A REAL BARGAIN ! We have only used it a couple of times last year Jim. It's potential was appreciated. Ran off the Solar panel, nae bother !
It was bought with a view that without it, or air con, touring central europe/northern Italy would be a no no ! Neither of us enjoy being cooked alive, bitter experience in Poland of all places 40+ for a fortnight in a non air conned car, and the Mrs's outlaws didn't have air con either.

I've got one in my garage at home if you want it -it was last used for stripping paint off doors some years ago -not sure if it uses parafin or petrol now-but its made of brass and shines up a real treat.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
