I have this plastic L shaped thingy with an arm attached that will slide up and down to sit on top of stacked crockery, bought from Ebay.

It all depends what will fit in the cupboards/lockers in the van you happen to have. We found that many commercial offerings wouldn't fit ours. We did manage to find a plate rack in a small hardware shop in Tunbridge Wells last year but as Andy says, often it's a case of being inventive.

We use a small bucket with teatowells between the plates stored in cupboard under sink. We use crocks so its heavier than the plastic stuff so keep the weight out of the lockers.
PVC so space is at a premium and if we need a bucket we have one. Ideal for taking the washingup out to the sinks if lots of dirty pans And on a site.

We've just lined the cupboards with non-slip matting and pile the plates up - don't have a problem with rattles. Cups just stand on the bottom shelf without anything around them (and they are china).

We put our dishes in the drawers in the kitchen. Use the storage blocks similar to ikea. Find that as along as they are wedged in then no movement. We use that method for all dishes cups etc. The top cupboards for lighter food items etc.

I have a Muggi holder for 4 mugs which is very secure and use strips of non slip matting between my Correlle crockery. Works fine and no rattles.
